The awards are nothing without the trophy which crowns the winner. For the 2022 trophy design we present you the world’s first wearable trophy!

At Pause Awards we think the trophy design is important because it’s a simple way to bring joy and cherish the memorable moments in one shape.

The trophy design this year is a pure aesthetic marvel designed around the production inefficiencies in Post-Covid world to punch above its weight with simplicity and style. The base of the trophy is made of two plus shapes (+=+) connected by an arch, an iteration from the previous year’s brutalist design. The 2022 trophy was also designed for a multi-year purpose, so we used ‘less is more’ approach.

Designed by the Founder of Pause Awards George Hedon, who said:

“The concept behind the Pause Awards Trophy was based around the new positioning being ‘The Home for Champions’ and if Pause Awards were the Olympic Games of entrepreneurship then the trophy needs to resemble the Olympic medal spirit and properties for the winning business athletes. It’s a bit silly but a cool idea to wear the trophy.”

With that in mind, the most innovative part of the trophy is designed to be worn like a medal, yes we merged trophy and medal in one object with two functions. The trophy comes with the additional ‘personalised lid’ connected by a ball chain which can be separately attached to the bag or a backpack.

Why would you want to wear a trophy?

We don’t know yet, it’s an experiment – but if you choose to show off your recognition in this way, now you can clip a trophy off your neck like a medal or add it to your bag and take it to the client’s boardroom. The trophy is made from lightweight acrylic, durable to withstand the wear, pressure or damage. So, where will you take your trophy next? We want to see the photos.

Trophies are mostly designed to be static, on the shelf items that collect dust, this year we wanted to flip that UX on its head. We have not heard of any award trophy in the world being made wearable, which makes this design concept possibly the world’s first.

2022 Trophy Collection

The trophy collection is made up of black and white base trophy colours that are separated with three secondary pastel colours for each of the trophies. Peach and black for Grand Prix, Azure and white for Standard and Olive and black for Hall of Fame trophy.

Trophy Packaging

In 2021, we won Good Design Awards for the Packaging Design and we’re very proud of that, and creating new packaging that will be multi-year was a big task.

New sustainable packaging is designed to impress with its minimal simplicity inside and fashionable grid pattern from the outside of the box. The winner’s Certificates will sit inside the box on the top of the trophy.
