We have the pleasure of connecting with Nic Blair, an entrepreneur whose passion for digital innovation has fueled an incredible journey since 2008. As the founder of Search Factory and co-founder of Brus Media, Nic has consistently blazed new trails in the world of marketing and technology. His most recent venture, Midnight Health, is transforming the healthcare landscape by enhancing patient outcomes and improving accessibility. The first brand they launched was Youly, then followed by three more, Stagger, Hub.health and Vidality.

Delve into the captivating narrative of Midnight Health’s journey, brimming with pure insight.

Tell us how you grew Midnight Health into the successful business it is today?

Midnight Health’s growth is a testament to our strategic and targeted marketing efforts. We tapped into the power of paid search, organic social media and influencer collaborations to connect with our core audience efficiently. Additionally, we pursued equity financing as a viable method for capital raising. The synergy between performance marketing and equity financing has played a crucial role in expanding our business venture.

Now, what does success look like for you and Midnight Health?

Our ultimate vision is to create a complete healthcare ecosystem through a patient-centered digital platform. We want to consolidate the fragmented industry, simplify patient experiences, improve accessibility and enhance healthcare outcomes. Our immediate goal is to have at least one million Australians use our platform for managing their health and well-being. Ultimately, we’d love to see the platform help prevent chronic diseases through early detection, fostering healthier outcomes for everyone.

I firmly believe that problem-solving is an invaluable skill for any business owner or founder.

In your opinion, what’s the single most important skill in business, and why?

I firmly believe that problem-solving is an invaluable skill for any business owner or founder. Every day, we’re faced with challenges such as growing our team, allocating resources, driving growth or raising capital. If you’re a skilled problem solver, you can find the right solutions to continue expanding your business and stand out from your competitors.

Are there any exciting plans coming up for Midnight Health in 2023?

While I can’t reveal all the details, rest assured that we have some thrilling ventures lined up for 2023. Our problem-solving mindset will continue to drive our growth and differentiate us from our competitors.

I’d advise companies to focus on creating solid fundamentals and healthy balance sheets through strong gross profits and sustainability. By doing this, businesses can ensure that their long-term goals are met.

Based on your experiences in the past year, do you have any advice you’d like to share with fellow entrepreneurs?

In today’s rapidly-evolving business landscape, it’s easy to get caught up in pursuing high growth at any cost. However, this approach has proven unsustainable for many startups. Instead, I’d advise companies to focus on creating solid fundamentals and healthy balance sheets through strong gross profits and sustainability. By doing this, businesses can ensure that their long-term goals are met.

Finally, how did winning the Pause Awards impact Midnight Health?

Winning the Pause Award gave us a welcome boost to our profile. The exposure gained from being among such strong competition further contributed to building confidence in the quality of our product and services. Sharing this accolade with a wider audience has undoubtedly led to more opportunities for us, and we are incredibly grateful for the recognition that came with it.
